Team Competition
Join the new MRHA Team Competition!!!
2012 Team Competition Rules:
1. Each Team will be comprised of three competitors, consisting of one rider eligible for open classes only and two non-pro riders, at least one of whom (including youth) must still be eligible for the NRHA Rookie Level 2 class.
2. Standings are determined on a point basis. Points will be earned the same as affiliate standing points except for youth and NRHA green reiner classes, for which points will be earned in accordance with NRHA rules for those classes.
3. Points are earned on a rider-only basis, without regard to the horses ridden.
4. Points will be accumulated on each rider’s two highest point totals at each MRHA-approved show.
5. Only one team can have the same combination of three riders, but riders are encouraged to be on multiple teams with different rider combinations.
6. Teams are considered formed when they have registered with the MRHA Team Competition Manager and paid the full entry fee.
7. A non-rider “owner” can form a team by designating three eligible riders and paying the full team entry fee.
8. A team can be formed at any time, but points will be counted only after the team is formed and the entry fee submitted.
9. A rider does not have to be an MRHA member to participate.
10. The team entry fee is $150.00 and can be paid either to the MRHA Team Competition Manager or the show secretary at the first show at which the team competes.
11. Half of the team entry fee will go to MRHA, and the other half will go into a team competition pot to be split at the end of the season, 60% to the team champions and 40% to the reserve team champions. Where a team is “owned” by a non-rider, the payout will go to the owner.
12. The MRHA Executive Board will be the final arbiter of all questions and disputes arising under these team rules.
